Friday August 14th we headed west for Colorado leaving around 6:09am. 9 minutes behind schedule already. We left with a 2009 Jeep Wrangler. Our goal was to reach North Platte, Nebraska around 6pm.
We only made scheduled stops and we were on time rolling into lunch at a rest area somewhere in Iowa. Eat fast people we are still 9 minutes behind schedule! Anyhow, we got on the road again. Cam was good for the most part and was looking forward to swimming at the hotel in North Platte. We arrived around 6:30pm, checked in and unpacked.
Now to dinner. I have never seen Cam eat so fast as he wanted to go swimming quite bad. We ate at Perkins and headed to the hotel for swimming. Swam until about 8:30pm, then back to bed for all.
Overnight it must have rained and gotten pretty nasty. There were two semi in the ditch on their sides just as soon as we got on the road on Saturday morning.
Sleep was good.
For the most part the day was pretty uneventful. 785 miles for the day.
