Donna and I arrived about 5 minutes prior to the start of Carrie's wave. She was in the last wave to go out. The swim was wierd in that it went along the shore close enough that you could run in waist to chest deep water or swim. Most ran to the turn and then started swimming. When the first people started coming out, they were stating they could not feel their feet and hands. Others came in stating there are people out there that were crying because it was so cold. Finally Carrie arrives on shore. She to states that she can not feel her feet but trudges on. Just over 21 minutes on the swim.
Through the transition in 4:40 and onto the bike she went. This course was setup pretty nice in that you would be able to see the competitors multiples times as they were doing loops. The bike was 12.1 miles in which we saw her about 8 times. Great for picture taking. 41:19 on the bike and through transition 2 in 2:37. Shoes changed, she was onto the run. The run was 3.1 miles where we could only catch her on the start and on the finish. 31:24 later she rolled through the finish with averaging 10 minute miles which was what she was used to.
Total time for the day was 1:41:01. She did great as always.
Overall she was 93 out of 170 in mens and womens. She placed 6 out of 19 in her age group and she placed 29 out of 81 in womens.
This was the first race I got to use my new bike Donny got me:) It is awesome . You're the best husband ever!!!
